“A Portrait of America Left Behind” is a photographic study representing the presence that humanity plays on the landscape, the structures that we build, and leave behind. It is a document of spaces that remain static in our present time. Completing Volume One of the project; photographed over a three year time period. It encompasses twenty states, twenty thousand miles, three months in the field, and hundreds of hours in the darkroom. Brandon lived out of his old Ford pickup truck while in the field, bringing him closer to the road, and his subjects. Most photographs are taken on top of his camper shell, and exposed on 4x5 film. All images here are scans of C-Prints made in Brandon’s previous home darkroom. The project is displayed 30x40” format and all images are available in print format for purchase.
